Welcome to Peine

The time has come in just under 4 weeks. Our season starts with the Highland Gathering in Peine on May 4th and 5th.

This is where we will set up our clantent for the first time this year and present ourselves to visitors. And that together with our friends from the other clans in the clan village on the festival grounds in the city park.

It starts on Saturday May 4th at 10:00 a.m. with the "Happy German Bagpipers" kicking off in downtown Peine. The pipe band competitions will start at 10:30 a.m. in the city park. From then on we will hear the bagpipes and pipes in the city park again and again throughout the weekend. Starting at 5:30 p.m., all pipe bands will march to the stage for the awards ceremony. You definitely shouldn't miss this. Things will get hot again in the evening from 8 p.m. The "Cobblestones" will rock the city park open air.

On Sunday the solo piper and drummer competition starts at 11:00 a.m., as well as the Highland Games in front of the stage. From 1:00 p.m. Peine is "Verkaufsoffen", means open for shopping and you can still take a leisurely stroll in the pedestrian zone. From 5:00 p.m. there will again be an award ceremony for the pipers and drummers in front of the stage.

Throughout the weekend there are many stalls in the city park with Scottish snacks and delicacies. There will also be occasional performances by dance groups, pipe bands and the “Folksingers” on the stages and throughout the park.
